Circular road via Kammanassie Road, De Rust, Meiringspoort

Go Back

Kammanassie is a Khoisan word meaning ‘mountain of water’

Take the N9 south from Uniondale and turn right at the Kammanassie Road, which travels to the south of the Kammanassie Mountains and really is a must-do for all modes of transport (including motorbikes and cyclists)

Specialist seed farming as well as export figs, peaches, pears and nectarines are grown here. Look out for animals and people along the road.

At the fork in the road 30 km along, turn left to Buffelsdrift and back to the N9 (Red Route 41km). Alternatively keep going right towards Dysselsdorp on the Green Route.  (110 km) Where the road joins the N12, head towards De Rust for a meal and a spot of shopping, and definitely check out Meiringspoort while you are in the area. Known by some as an unacknowledged wonder of the world!

Afterwards return from De Rust to Uniondale via the R341 (The Orange Route, approx 80km)
